Craft(ED) School Visits Program
Thank you for choosing Craft Contemporary for your field trip. We are proud to offer you our one-of-a-kind Craft(ED) program, an inquiry-based, interactive gallery tour and hands-on workshop experience. Craft(ED) is California curriculum-aligned, Earth-centered, and designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking and multisensory exploration.
Guided school visits for the 2026-2027school year will be open on Monday, August 3.
To serve your group, we require a field trip reservation. Please fill out the form below so that we can follow up and confirm your requested date.

CRAFT(ED) DETAILS
In-Person School Tour + Workshops
3rd to 12th Grade
Wednesdays and Thursdays weekly, from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Our two-hour Guided Tour + Workshop includes interactive discussions in the galleries and a hands-on activity exploring craft media and processes in the studio. School groups can bring lunches and enjoy them in our courtyard or across the street at the park near the La Brea Tar Pits.
Elementary Schools: 20 - 50 students per visit.
The group must provide 1 chaperone for every 6 students.
Middle & High Schools: 20 - 55 students per visit.
The group must provide 1 chaperone for every 10 students.
FEES: We offer free admission to all LA schools with registration. Title 1 public schools may be eligible for a limited number of bus stipends. Further details are available upon request. If you are requesting a bus stipend, we ask that you bring two classes with you so that we can maximize the number of students on the bus.
Not eligible for a bus stipend? Consider riding the Metro. The museum is located the D Line, a short walk from the Wilshire and Fairfax subway station.

Booking Policy
Please note that booking a school bus is the schoolteacher’s responsibility. We offer reimbursements to a limited number of Title I schools within a one-hour radius of the museum. If you are eligible for a stipend, we will reimburse you after the field trip has occurred, upon receipt of an invoice addressed to Craft Contemporary.
Reservations require a minimum of four to six weeks’ notice. You will receive confirmation of your preferred date within 1-2 weeks of booking.
Guided school visits are currently designed for 3rd to 12th grade students; please contact us if you’d like to book other grades so that we can discuss an adapted field trip structure.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your field trip, please let us know immediately. We require a minimum of 4 weeks’ time, so that we can offer your time slot to another school on the waitlist. We have a limited number of spots and want to ensure that as many schools as possible are being accommodated. Thank you!
