Mimbres: Art in Textile and Craft Contemporary invite you to join us on Saturday, May 7th from 11AM to 5PM for a pre-Mother's Day Textile Trunk Show with Mimbres owner/designer Charles Galatis at the Craft Contemporary Shop.

 

Mimbres textiles are made by hand from sustainable materials, such as organic cotton, flax, nettle and wild silk, as well as natural plant-based dyes. The Mimbres textile collection was born out of a deep appreciation for the one-of-a-kind nature of things that are handcrafted.

 

In a world where mass production has become the norm, Mimbres seeks out the work of the finest textile artists and craftspeople from India and Southeast Asia in pursuit of traditional and vintage textiles, along with contemporary re-interpretations of age-old techniques and motifs. In addition to presenting traditional hand-woven and block-printed textiles, Mimbres is inspired by expanding the potential of various dyeing techniques such as bandhani, shibori, clamp and dip-dyeing.
