Volunteer Opportunities
Programs
Craft Contemporary’s public programming offers a dynamic platform for adults, youth, and families to experience and make art. Program volunteers help support staff and visiting artists through a variety of tasks including set-up/clean-up, distributing materials, and program support at our monthly adult or youth-based craft workshops as well as other special artist talks, gallery discussions, and panel presentations.
Events
Event volunteers are utilized to help support our Member Events, Exhibition Opening Receptions, and Special Exhibition Walkthroughs/Tours. Volunteer tasks include check-in support, wayfinding, event set-up/clean-up, bartending, monitoring attendees for safety and accessibility concerns, and supporting a warm, welcoming guest experience.
Senior Stewards
Senior Steward volunteers create a friendly, welcoming environment and assist the Public Programs Manager in creating a unique and customized visitor experience for each person they engage. Available for folks 65+, duties include greeting visitors and providing them with information regarding exhibitions, programs, and events, directing visitors to amenities, and coordinating guest flow during busy times.
Requirements: Volunteers are supervised by the Public Programs Manager and other designated Craft Contemporary staff members. At this time, we are seeking dedicated volunteers for our workshops, programs, salons, and fundraising events. Commitment of at least 5 shifts for each season of programs is required. Each shift is approximately four (4) hours long. Please note all volunteer hours are unpaid, and the schedule is based on the calendar of programs, events, and exhibitions.
Benefits: Volunteers enjoy free admission to Craft Contemporary, member benefits for The Egg & The Eye Shop and special events, and a space to deepen your relationship to art, craft, and each other.
