Brush Lettering with Natural DIY Inks

Explore the art of brush lettering with artist and instructor Emmanuel Sevilla using handmade inks created from natural materials such as local botanicals, soil, and wood. Participants will experiment with lettering techniques while learning how simple, organic ingredients can create a rich range of colors and textures.

This workshop is inspired by our Maker-in-Residence, Jackie Amézquita, whose work invites people to share words that express resilience, care, and solidarity during these challenging times. We ask participants to reflect on this and create their own meaningful phrases—participants will create large-scale, hand-lettered works that can function as posters, signs, or visual affirmations.
