Discover the captivating world of indigo dyeing in this hands-on workshop exploring one of the world’s oldest natural dyes. We’ll explore the process of transforming naturally derived materials into rich, lasting color on natural fibers.
Participants will be introduced to the foundations of natural dyeing, including fiber preparation, scouring, mordanting, dye-bath preparation, and techniques for creating beautiful tonal shifts.
You will learn how to build and activate your own mini indigo vat using natural reducing agents and basic chemistry. This compact vat allows you to continue experimenting with indigo at home and create small-scale dye projects of your own. No previous dyeing experience is required!
