Keeping the Embers Alive: Sign Painting with Melissa Govea

Meet Embers of Generational Memory CCF Visual Arts Fellow Melissa Govea and learn how hand-painted lettering can be used to create political and activist-inspired posters. Through an icebreaker and communal brainstorming, participants will explore issues in their communities and develop a message to express through design. Melissa will demonstrate sign layout, lettering, color, composition, brush strokes, and painting techniques from sketch to execution. Participants will create their own personalized poster to take home.
