Fistful of Love: Film Screening and Conversation with Reynaldo Rivera

Join Embers of Generational Memory CCF Visual Arts Fellow Reynaldo Rivera for a screening of his debut feature, Fistful of Love (95 minutes), followed by a conversation with Rivera. Shot throughout the 1990s, the film draws from Rivera’s archive of Hi8 footage, capturing vignettes of his life between Mexico and California, from punk clubs, drag performances to intimate moments with friends, family, and fellow artists. Edited in collaboration with filmmaker Pablo Bujosa Rodríguez, these personal and collective histories transform everyday encounters into acts of resistance against erasure. Rivera will also sell handmade apparel created in collaboration with artist La Vikki, featuring screenprints of his photography.
